TEAM TEXAS NATIONAL MIDDLE SCHOOL DUALS
The National Middle School Duals will be held in Danville, IL on March 27 and 28. This is an awesome tournament for competitive middle school wrestlers. It provides wrestling on the level of the Tulsa Nationals, but in a dual format so the kids will see 7 matches over two days, as opposed to 2 or 3. We are hoping to take two complete teams (17 weight classes per team) plus alternates. Nine Central Region wrestlers competed on the team last year and all of them benefited greatly from the experience.

Hello Central Region Coaches:

With the Texas State Championships right around the corner it is time to start work on assembling our National Middle School Dual contingent. The National Middle School Duals will be held in Danville, IL on March 27 and 28. I need your help in nominating wrestlers from the Central Region to represent our state on Team Texas. I have attached a flyer to this email that provides general information about the program that you can share with your team.

In a nutshell, this is an awesome tournament for competitive middle school wrestlers.

The cost will be somewhere in the neighborhood of $400 and covers transportation from Dallas, food, lodgings, and Team Texas gear for each of the wrestlers. It is an exceptional value. We will need to collect a $200 deposit from all interested wrestlers on or before the Open State Championships on Saturday February 20th.

Please take a look at your rosters and identify those wrestlers that you think might be a good fit. I would greatly appreciate it if you could give me a call or send me an email with a list of potential candidates as quickly as possible so that we can discuss.

We are planning on running three regional practices per week from Feb. 22nd through Mar. 23rd in order to prepare for the tournament. Two of the practices will likely take place during the week in North Austin, while the weekend practice will rotate to different locations throughout the region in an effort to accommodate parents and wrestlers.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. Thanks in advance for your support of Team Texas 2010!
